Although the Bakery has been quiet for a few months the kitchen has not! I have been researching, collecting and trying new and old recipes for all to share. My kids are partial to an old favorite that my Grandmother Magnan would make when the stars were aligned. I remember hearing "Maple Dumplings" and soon after dinner the house would fill with the warm, rich aroma of maple. I would walk upstairs into the kitchen and my Grandmother would instruct us not to "peek" by lifting the lid of the treasured pan. It seemed like forever before we were allowed to see the golden dumplings and then to wait for them to cool.... the torture. Finally, adorned with a scoop of vanilla ice cream we ate the warm comfort food made straight from the heart of Vermont's Maples... Here is the recipe for Nanny's Maple Dumplings try them and see what happens in your home!
